Where's the Exit?

My purgatory stay was longer today than the day before and I like to think that it's because there were MBTA workers giggling about how they were hiding the exits from me. That must be why I always end up in the wrong spot, not just because I'm an idiot who can't follow signs.  Head down, AirPods in, thinking that I may be on time today because my red line ride actually was quick, I'm walking towards where I believe the South Station exit had been the day before. People start to push and run around me, in an obvious hurry to get to work. But we're early today, what's the rush? Should I also start running? What are they running from? Why are they pushing toward the exit? It's like in a movie when a mob of people is running away from the disaster behind and everyone joins along. Is it worth it to run from whatever is behind me in the station? Normally the only time I run is to chase an ice cream truck. If I run, I'll get sweaty and my hair could get messed...
